Volunteer Opportunities

Every year, many talented, hard-working ASHT members help advance the hand therapy profession and patient care through volunteer service. Volunteers serve as the backbone of ASHT’s work. We know you’re busy, and we encourage you to find time to get involved with ASHT. Participating in the society often returns unexpected dividends – improved leadership skills, connections with hand therapists all over the country, opportunities to shape ASHT’s direction and a better understanding of the issues facing hand therapists in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.

ASHT's Technology & Communication Committee is charged with increasing public awareness of hand and upper extremity therapy, contributing content to ASHT publications, participating in projects related to Hand Therapy Week and more.

ASHT is seeking state liaisons in all 50 states to assist the Practice Division in understanding individual state regulatory environment, active legislation, therapy rules, reimbursement challenges and other activities as assigned by leadership.
