Dear ASHT Members,

We are facing unsure and challenging times individually, as a profession and as a nation. As the COVID-19 crisis intensifies, we are all affected differently. It is daunting to consider the various needs presenting themselves in our personal lives, clinical practice and business-related scenarios.

I want to take a moment to remind each and every one of you that one of your greatest support systems can be found within your built-in family at ASHT. You are not alone. We are a team, and as much as we are devoted to our patients and profession, we are an excellent resource for each other. We have the advantage of instant outreach within the various online discussion groups to lean on our colleagues for guidance and assistance. Join and use the ASHT e-Community to ask questions, offer suggestions on managing the crisis or brainstorm solutions to other important factors that are affecting you or your area of practice.

Let’s use the e-Community to share what we have learned and pass it on. For example, one area of our industry that is being directly impacted is small- and medium-sized businesses. Did you know the U.S. Small Business Administration recently announced a plan to provide disaster recovery loans to businesses impacted by coronavirus-related economic disruptions? This small pearl can provide some tremendous relief to those who are completely dependent on income from a private practice.

If you are looking for help to guide you through the myriad of scenarios impacted by the COVID-19 situation, I encourage you to seek wisdom from your ASHT peers through our e-Community. We are a team, and together we will get to the other side of this monumental challenge.
