ASHT’s vision is to be the recognized leader in advancing the science and practice of hand therapy. Its mission is to build and support the community for professionals dedicated to the excellence of hand therapy. As loyal members, we can strongly attest to the value that ASHT provides to its members and the medical community.
We are a diverse group of practicing clinicians and academics, and work in a variety of settings. Regardless of what area of hand therapy we are involved in, ASHT is a trusted resource. We depend on ASHT to be our go-to source for current issues in legislation, reimbursement and healthcare policy, both at the local and national levels. ASHT actively advocates on current issues, and collaborates with major organizations that impact hand therapy on a daily basis. ASHT excels at disseminating information that affects our daily practice in hand therapy.
As members of ASHT, we have access to an invaluable online membership directory, multiple e-Community discussion boards and numerous continuing education opportunities at discounted prices. We know ASHT is current in evidence-based practice related to hand therapy, including study and clinical assessment publications, webinars, orthotics workshops, journals and the Annual Meeting. ASHT promotes research and education that facilitate our ability to provide optimal care to our patients. After all these years of being members, we are still developing professionally and learning invaluable skills!
ASHT also provides numerous opportunities for professional growth, avenues for leadership, mentoring and professional networking amongst the leaders in our field both nationally and internationally. ASHT is consistently ensuring our viability for continuing to be the recognized leader in the specialty of hand therapy, and invites its members to help lead the next generation of hand therapists.
We are not just members of ASHT, but ambassadors for our hand therapy specialty. It’s easy for us to answer why we continue to be members of ASHT: We want to continue to be advocates and leaders of excellence in the practice of hand therapy. The future of ASHT starts today.
