Show Me the Evidence

The ASHT Annual Meeting has had to make some innovative changes this year to become the 2020 Virtual Conference, and will prove to be awesome. While the platform may look different, the high quality and expertise remain strong and this includes the scientific sessions.

The scientific sessions are an explosion of evidence this year. The podium and poster presentations will prove to have something for everyone. This year’s scientific sessions include randomized controlled trials, biomechanical studies, cohort studies and validation of patient reported outcome measures to name a few. Topics range from thumb CMC joint OA treatment paradigms, to the role of self-efficacy and distal radius fracture, from the influence of pain on our patients to goniometric techniques for scapular motion. The concepts of occupation-based intervention, psychosocial factors, graded motor imagery and joint position sense testing will also be included in this jam-packed session.

The scientific sessions will present you with the highlights of current high-level evidence that is not only relevant and informative but may influence or change the way you practice. The quality of work that the members of our ASHT community have researched and will be sharing will not only make you smarter but will make you proud to be associated with this organization and the individuals working hard to validate what we do and  find the most effective ways and means for treating our patients and elevating our profession.

So please join your colleagues to show your support for their rigorous work, and learn what is new and effective. Tune in you will not be disappointed -- you may even get bitten by the research bug!
