We are in the process of accepting nominations for the ASHT Board of Directors for 2021. This is a self-nominating process. You can explore the qualifications, roles and responsibilities for each position Board Elections and Nominations page of our website. The entry-level board position for those who have not yet served on the board or as a division director is board member-at-large. For this position, ASHT is seeking Active members who are interested in the growth of ASHT, are well connected to the hand therapy community and may be interested in pursuing future board leadership positions. The deadline to nominate is March 27, 2020.
I have been involved in volunteering for the ASHT Board of Directors since 2009, and have found the experience both rewarding and enjoyable. Board members provide the vision and strategic planning to meet current and future needs of our members and facilitate the growth of our profession, while our core staff performs the daily operations to bring the vision to reality. Board members work as a team, and my experience has been that fellow board members are supportive and encouraging as I learned the role of each position for which I volunteered.
Giving back to the profession has resulted in both personal and professional growth, and created long term friendships.
