Physical Therapy Month

Posted by Kimberly G Kraft, PT, DPT, CHT 10/15/2019

October is National Physical Therapy Month. April is Occupational Therapy Month.  In between is Hand Therapy Week which is the first full week of June.  Aside from balancing my calendar nicely, I’m grateful to have so many occasions to celebrate with my Hand Therapy community!

Physical Therapy Month events coincide with the ASHT Annual Meeting. Passion through service and our opportunity to affect the opioid epidemic as rehabilitation professionals are shared association values. The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) fifth annual PT Day of Service (PTDOS) on October 12th organizes thousands of physical therapists, physical therapy assistants and physical therapy students to serve local and global communities in 60 countries. The current APTA motto is ChoosePT, promoting rehabilitation rather than medication for pain control.
