Congratulations, New CHTs!

On behalf of the Hand Therapy Certification Commission Board of Directors and staff, I would like to personally congratulate the 116 Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) who recently passed the November 2015 Hand Therapy Certification Examination. These CHTs have demonstrated a personal dedication to the field of hand therapy with their commitment to reach the highest standards of our profession.
Obtaining the CHT credential is not only a personal and professional career benchmark, but it most importantly serves to assure the public, physicians and referral sources that the therapist has achieved the high standards set by HTCC. CHTs recertify every five years, which provides continued assurance of the CHTs commitment to professional education and to a high level of competency in the profession of hand therapy.
Other benefits of certification reported by therapists include achieving more professional recognition, personal satisfaction and in a recent salary survey, 85% of the therapists surveyed reported receiving a salary increase as a result of obtaining their CHT credential. Most importantly, the ultimate goal of certification is to promote maximal patient care that benefits the entire healthcare community.
Please join me in congratulating our new CHTs, and HTCC would appreciate hearing from you the benefits you personally find in being a Certified Hand Therapist.
Again, congratulations on your achievement.
