Attend ASHT's Hand Therapy Review Course

Posted by Rachel Pigott, OTR/L, CHT 04/16/2013

I have been lucky enough over the last year and a half to be involved in organizing and presenting at ASHT’s Hand Therapy Review Course (HTRC). This course is a great opportunity for Associate members of ASHT or anyone preparing to become a Certified Hand Therapist. The course can be a way to identify areas of strengths and weaknesses and then focus their study efforts. And because the HTRC gives an overview of a variety of topics within the field of hand therapy, it also serves as a valuable “refresher” course for all hand therapists.
Faculty of ASHT’s HTRC are experienced clinicians and educators genuinely dedicated to assisting the attendees in furthering their knowledge of hand rehabilitation. The environment is such that the faculty are accessible to the attendees throughout the course. Availability of experienced clinicians is invaluable, especially to those clinicians who may not work in a large office or have a mentor nearby to bounce ideas off.
As a faculty member of this course, I feel there is something special about helping other therapists as they go through this challenging time in their careers. I can say from personal experience that taking the CHT Exam is a nerve-racking process. (My husband would agree.)  I think I speak for all involved in the HTRC that we always strive to provide a quality educational product that is an excellent adjunct in the studying process.
Don't miss this valuable opportunity! There are still a few spaces available for the Hand Therapy Review Course this weekend (April 20-21) in St. Louis.
