ASHT Volunteers: This Week is Dedicated to You

Appreciation

ASHT is a volunteer-led organization recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in advancing the science and practice of hand and upper extremity therapy. This recognition would simply not be possible without the commitment of all of our volunteers.

To each and every volunteer, both past and present, I personally thank you for your service and dedication to ASHT.

Volunteerism

Volunteerism is one of the most important and beneficial actions we can engage in as individuals. It enables a sense of value and belonging. It offers the chance to give something back while making a difference. For some, it builds on existing knowledge, while for others, new skills are developed. Volunteering provides the added benefit of social opportunities to meet people, make friends and ultimately embrace a new community. Regardless of the motivation, volunteering is fulfilling and rewarding.

ASHT currently has 110 member volunteers! Our members choose to volunteer within ASHT for a variety of intrinsic and extrinsic reasons. The ability to donate time and expertise makes an immense difference that directly impacts our expanding community of upper extremity specialists.

How Do You Get Started?

ASHT has listened to its members who want to volunteer but don’t know how to get involved. We have invested in an easy-to-access volunteer portal to facilitate the volunteer process. Opportunities of varying time commitment from microvolunteering to macro commitments are now available to match interests and availability. It is easy to scroll through all the openings and find something that speaks to your reason for wanting to contribute to ASHT. Because we are a volunteer-driven organization, we are dependent on each other to promote and advance ASHT into a sustainable future.

Testimonial

I can confidently attest that volunteering for ASHT has resulted in exceptional personal growth. Furthermore, I have tremendous appreciation and respect for all the individuals involved in our association’s success. Until I started volunteering, I had no idea how much work it takes behind the scenes to provide all the benefits, information and educational offerings available to our members. Personally, I have made lasting friendships, and am grateful that volunteering for ASHT has given me a ‘family’ I can rely on and look forward to seeing every year.

Shoutout
