International Federation of Societies for Hand Therapy (IFSHT)
The mission of the IFSHT is to provide global networking and educational opportunities to develop and enhance the practice of hand therapy. IFSHT represents more than 5,000 hand therapists worldwide, and endeavors to promote the principles and practice of hand therapy internationally, thereby increasing the number of patients who receive specialized rehabilitation.
IFSHT UPDATE (12/4/12)
In just 13 weeks, therapists and hand surgeons from around the world will meet to share information, update their knowledge base and connect with one another from March 4-8, 2013 in New Dehli, India for the joint IFSSH-IFSHT Congress. Don't miss this unique opportunity to travel to a country with an amazing diversity of religions, languages, and cultures and at the same time gain new insights for your day to day professional practice.
If you are already registered: All visitors to India, require a visa. Don't forget to apply for visa at least six weeks prior to the congress, visas are not available upon arrival. Most participants will be able to travel to India on a tourist visa, some countries will need to apply for a conference visa. More information
IFSHT-IFSSH Teaching Grants: IFSHT and IFSSH have joined together to support international projects that further the practice of hand therapy. Recently, a group of Canadian hand therapists traveled to Uganda to work with and teach local therapists there about hand therapy. This project was supported by a grant from the IFSHT-IFSSH International Teaching Fund. Do you have a project or are you considering one that will further the practice of hand therapy in a country other than your own? If so, you can apply for support from IFSHT-IFSSH.
