"The human hand is one of the most precise and wonderful mechanical devices in creation and vastly more impressive than any mechanical device that man has made."

– Stuart Burgess, Professor of Mechanical Engineering

State Chapters

The American Society of Hand Therapists is affiliated with ten state chapters through a voluntary affiliation agreement.  State chapters are separately incorporated, and organized and operated as separate legal entities.

ASHT has long been dedicated to supporting the exchange of information among hand therapists. Through the state chapters, members are able to share ideas, develop local educational programs and solve problems common to hand therapists within a defined region. State chapters provide valuable opportunities for local networking, life-long learning and grassroots advocacy.
