| Active | $225 | Must be a certified hand therapist (CHT). | An active member may vote, hold elected office and participate on (or chair) committees. |
| New CHT | $185 | A CHT who has passed the CHT exam within the past 12 months. | |
| Associate | $225 | A Certified or Licensed occupational or physical therapist. | An associate member may serve on, (but not chair) committees, and may vote only to elect an associate representative. |
| Retired | $85 | A current Active or Associate member who is no longer practicing, but wishes to remain connected to the Society may apply for Retired status. *** |
Applications for Active Retired, Associate Retired, Active Leave of Absence of Associate Leave of Absence must be made in writing. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis. More information is available from ASHT Member Services at 856-380-6856.
NOTE: These categories are intended for members who are unemployed or employed for less than 10 hours a week. |
| Leave of absence | $85 |
A current Active or Associate member who has taken a planned or unplanned leave of absence from the profession may apply for Leave of Absence status. *** Requires a signed statement outlining the reason for the leave of absence. Supporting documentation is required. |

| Step-Up | $175 | Must have graduated from OT or PT school within the past 12 months. | |
| Affiliate | $175 | Must be a certified or licensed occupational therapy or physical therapy assistant. | An affiliate member may serve on (but not chair) committees. Affiliate members cannot vote. |
| Student | $45 | Must be enrolled in an accredited entry-level (masters/doctoral) occupational or physical therapy degree program. | Student members may be invited to participate in ASHT activities, but may not hold elective office, chair committees or vote. |
