Surgeon, therapist collaborate on research journal article
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Dr. Morgan Lorio, an orthopedic surgeon at Bristol Regional Medical Center, and Kimberly Masker, a certified hand therapist at the hospital’s Hand Center, recently teamed up with two other collaborators for a nationally published wound research journal.
The article, titled “Use of Artificial Dermal Substitute as a Bridge in Complex Finger Reconstruction,” was published in the May issue of Wounds. The article discusses the use of artificial skin substitutes as a bridge for reconstructing complex finger injuries and demonstrates how patients who require artificial skin graft treatments can benefit from this kind of synthetic treatment.
