How much is annual membership in ASHT?
ASHT membership is based on the calendar year – from January 1 through December 31. Annual membership in ASHT and a full year of membership benefits is currently $225.

How long will it take to process my membership application?
Once your membership application has been received by ASHT, it will take 7-10 business days to process the payment and enter your record in the database. You will then receive a New Member Packet in the mail with your membership card and other information.

Do you have to be a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to become a member of ASHT?
No – you do not have to be a CHT to join ASHT. ASHT membership is open to all Certified Hand Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapy Assistants and students.
ASHT has different levels of membership, so once you do become a CHT, be sure to let Headquarters know so your file can be updated. With your CHT, you receive added benefits of membership including voting rights and leadership opportunities.

How do I sign up to take the CHT exam?
The CHT exam is administered by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC). You can contact them at 800.860.7097 for information about the exam.

Does ASHT have any study materials for the CHT exam?
YES! ASHT offers the Hand Therapy Certification Study Module. This ASHT educational product includes chapter outlines and slides on CD-ROM from all 20 chapters of the CSC, as well as chapter after chapter of study questions. Earn up to 12 contact hours (1.2 CEUs) for completion of this study module.

Does ASHT offer any continuing education (CE) opportunities?
YES! ASHT’s Education Division is hard at work year-round coming up with new ways for you to earn CE. Currently, ASHT offers continuing education through the Annual Meeting, Regional Workshops, Read & Respond program and Certification Review. Keep watching for new CE opportunities!
